Biography

Tru Image first introduction into DJ culture was through a friend he met in 2011 after moving from his hometown of Los Angeles, California to the musically rich culture of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  In late 2007 Tru was introduced to a CD series called "Bangin' The Box" by a legendary house DJ from Chicago Bad Boy Bill.  Bad Boy Bill's style of mixing would become a major influence on Tru's style.  He quickly went out and bought turntables, started digging for vinyl, and begun to learn the art of mixing.

Fast forward a few years to 2008 and Tru's true style on the turntables started to take form.  His love of music from all genres allowed him to break away from only mixing house records and developed into an open-format / "party rock" style of DJing.  Tru didn't want to be stereotyped into being a single genre DJ. He began learning how to seamlessly mix rock with hip hop & house, reggae with funk, and so on.  Tru was determined to have the musical knowledge to be put infront of any crowd and play any genre of music respectfully.

Current Career

Over the 5 years since Tru developed his "anything goes" style on the turntables he has became a tastemaker in the Philadelphia nightlife scene.  Tru was recently honored by being chosen as one of the official Student City Spring Break DJs which placed him in Dominican Republic in March of 2012 rocking huge crowds of wild spring-breakers.  He also became part of the famous.Scratch Academy who booked him for a one month "celebrity DJ" tour on the worlds largest cruise ship, The Oasis of the Seas in May of 2010.

Tru has also been the official DJ for the House of Blues in Atlantic City for the past 3 years (2010-Present). This has given him the opportunity to DJ with some major bands; Third Eye Blind, Tonic, Fuel,  Tommy Lee, Filter, Trapt, Alien Ant Farm, & more.  He has also DJ'd official after parties for Third Eye Blind, Korn, Disturbed, Slightly Stoopid, Maroon 5 & more...

Needless to say, Tru's career behind the turntables is far from over.  Currently diving deeper into the production/remix side of DJing, there are many more exciting things to come from Tru Image.  If you book Tru Image for your event, you will without a doubt get your moneys worth.  He will keep your venue as high energy or as chill as you need it to be.  No dance floor is too big or small for Tru Image.
